I thought about the writing that we used to do, and I re-read over a lot of it. I've been reading it for the past five hours. And I miss you. No one has ever come close to making the quality of story, characterization, setting, or realism that you can. And I don't write as well anymore. I fell out of RP for awhile when we stopped writing together. I then went back to comms, and was quickly reminded why comms suck. I dropped out to do the PSL thing for awhile, and that went even worse. I realized that it wasn't anything aside from the simple fact that I need you for this activity to be fun. I think I might pull all of my characters from the two games that I'm in, throw in the towel, and read over our old stuff and bask in the glory of what real, good writing is like. Because after five years, I've seen a lot, and I know for a fact that I'll never have that ever again. What we did was special - no, what you did was special. I'll never again spend hours in front of my computer, listening to music and connecting with you by being in a reality that we are weaving as we go. Never again will I stay up despite my eyes drooping to read every last line that we crafted once a thread was finished. These things are not going to happen again, and maybe they shouldn't. Portia DeRossi. Perhaps this is a somewhat biased praise seeing as how I've written with you in multiple venues, but like it or lump it here it is. You've taken a semi obscure celebrity and managed to interweave them through the thick of pop culture, girlfriend/wife aside. You're not much of an updater these days which really is a shame, because truth be told you're one of the most intelligent role-players around. You know how to take a smart joke (a rare thing these days), your information and portrayals are dead fucking on, and you're a real riot. And yes dammit, your icons ARE amazing. ;) Maria Bello. I'm torn on you, because part of me enjoys the shit out of you while the other part is completely intimidated. Your entries leave me grasping desperately for something semi-intelligent to comment with. In fact, I think I'm also envious of you. I wish I had the ability to balance class with a rather good natured sense of humor. You've created such a well rounded, (mostly) approachable character. I dig it. Damien Rice. I'm such a huge fan of this man's work, and I have to say that I've not been disappointed by a single fucking update from you. I've had some of your updates stir up honest to God emotions in me, almost to the point where I had tears in my eyes because the things you say are so goddamned poignant. Despite the fact that your character seems to be the flavor of the month, your updates and comments both prove that you're above and beyond that stigma. You're funny (I mean really funny, I've laughed out loud literally on more than one occasion from your comments), you're articulate and you're INTERESTING. It really is a privilege to write with you; in every scene with every one of your characters, I push myself further as a writer. You've made me better and for that, I don't know if I can ever adequately thank you. There isn't just a touch of realism to your characters--they're fully developed personas with tangible substance that make them so easy to interact with. But, Kensi will always be my favorite. I don't think Nicholas would be possible without her, I really don't. And what I love about them is how they've grown and how I never, ever know how one of their scenes are going to end. That unpredictability is so rare in RPing today. And...besides all that, what makes you so amazing is that you're sweet, funny, understanding, smart as hell, and real. Days don't really feel as complete without having spoken to you at least a little bit. Oh, you're a great mod, too. Couldn't leave that out, now could I? luxuryisland is lucky to have you. [25 Aug 2008|06:15pm] youareamazing [jasonsmith] So, here's a little bit of a funny story... A good while ago, I used to be pretty much against faux-celeb communities. I had tried them once or twice in my day and didn't really completely understand how they operated. I got celeb characters and I got PB characters, but sort of combining the two seemed entirely too perplexing for me to fully enjoy for too long. That was before a good friend of mine (the former writer behind evanandrews) convinced me to join warnerbrothers. Since then, I feel like I've completely been uncovering a whole side of this game that I had never even really knew existed and for the first time in probably years, I feel as though I've actually connected to and grown attached to a character that I'm writing. Even though the writers behind my kid's former bandmates have all left the community for greener pastures, I've still come to find that I really enjoy playing the character as an individual as well, something that came as a complete and total surprise to me given that he was initially created as kind of a background character to others that were already present and have since departed. I've also found a great deal of amazing fellow people to write with at the community, which is also somewhat of a pleasant surprise, because for a long time I had stopped writing with people I didn't know out of character all together. Sure, it was silly, but kind of a comfort thing I guess, I don't know. In any event, I'm really glad I joined warnerbrothers. To the point where it's often times the only place I'm 100% active and not at all completely bored with. As for individual praises... ( You can probably find yourself here. ) And even if you're at the community and weren't mentioned here, you totally rock my face off too and don't be afraid to say hey to him whenever he's around. Including the one I founded, my old baby presentable. Rosario Dawson was my first, and is still going strong. For a good while there was a chance if you had one in your community it was me (not so much anymore). Since then I've played Shawn Ashmore, Nas, Diego Luna, Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, Christina Aguilera, Anthony Mackie, Salma Hayek, Zac Hanson, Kate Winslet, Ashley Judd, Carlos Ponce, PB'ed Laetitia Casta, PB'ed Robin Thicke before he got big (he still had long hair people), and of course one of my near and dears tedcasablanca. I can't promise I will get to everyone I should, but underneath the cut I will - to the best of my recollection - highlight those who meant a lot to me. ( Remember when we used to -sto- and -rae- ? ) Lord I'm probably forgetting a million other people with this but there you have it. Thanks for the memories or something. [25 Aug 2008|11:15am] youareamazing [luccy] therumormill! I lost faith in the rp world for a long time until this community came along. Lucy is the first girl I have played in, god, 3 years? And I have fallen in love with her. She was a clean slate when I brought her in on first adds and now she has developed into a pretty in depth character. All of you make this community amazing. You are all active and actually keep me on my toes. Lucy and hinton are, by far, the best characters I have had in a long time. maxwilde - You are amazing. Max and Lucy are so cute sometimes it makes me want to vomit. They are on the same wavelength almost all of the time and I have to be honest with you, this is the longest any of my characters have ever had a boyfriend that they actually like LMAO. You are a great person to write with, even if sometimes we do have to hurry since we are both on time schedules that suck. She used to hate him in the beginning but now she is head over heels ;[ rileymb - Thank you for being patient enough to wait until the most ungodly hours of the night to talk to DC. They are cute together and both of my characters adore her so you are obviously doing something right. herston - Lmao do you even need a reason on why you are so great? I could carry on about how fantastic you are, about your unwavering kindness, you're ability to always, always look at the bright side and find the silver lining, your ability to make any sort of foul mood I'm in disappear, and the wonderful level your dirty mind has come to, but we'd be here for days. I feel like we've got one of those unlikely friendships; there is quite an age gap between us, we're horribly polar opposite on certain things (my bitter cynicism is just no match for your sunshine), and I seem to be one of the only ones of the Twilight cast exiled from the OC. In any case, we somehow hit it off from the start and I am beyond glad to be able to call you one of my best and closest friends. Your birthday this year WILL be amazing, no doubt in my mind about that, and I cannot wait to crash with you for a while..especially if it turn permanent.
